Batman: Arkham City Review (slight improvements)

Batman: Arkham City is all over the place. Despite what I want to say, because I love DC and rocket league boosting, this game was just a great company trying too hard at making a great game. Now, don’t get me wrong the main story line was great although a bit weird at times (Am I seriously supposed to believe Catwoman hung upside down for an in-game week?). They executed the main villains very well, especially Joker. The story was long but I never truly found a dull moment. They always had Batman beating the boogers out of some guys, which is great because the combat system is superb. You never got bored because there was always something happening. They brought in villains that aren’t these huge famous bad guys, like Bane or Joker, even though they did have big name villains. But after the stories over? Yeah, there is a metric butt-tonne of quests to do, but that’s what actually makes this game a bit worse.

Honestly, after the main storyline, it feels like they tried to put in too many super villains with too little time.

Each villain has about 5 minutes to give his “Grr Batman I hate you grr grumble grumble” speech before Batman kicks his face in. Especially with the Batman villain Mad Hatter. At one point you pass out and then your on a clock and then it’s done. AND THAT’S IT! However, if you get the GOTY edition, or just buy the Harley Quinn DLC, then it’s great fun! But that’s if you buy it.

Now, the game let’s you switch between Batman and Catwoman at any point should you go to the designated switch point.

This makes for fun times as the over-sexualized feline. Yes, very over-sexualized. The entire game her hooters are one small bump from making her appear on Perez Hilton’s NSFW section. Even the way she walks is made to have a sexual vibe to it. She has the ability to slide on the ground, and if you do the entire game suddenly turns into LOOK GUYS, BOOOOOOBS!

The game is amazing. Absolutely amazing. The combat is quick and clean, it feels like Batman has been trained by the best (which he has).

The character design is magnificent in general (I never said I didn’t like the over-sexualized Catwoman) and the storyline is pretty good. I had fun with this game which,in my opinion, rules out the graphics and the AI, because I don’t care how good a game looks (Although it DOES look BEAUTIFUL) or how realistically people in the game at, because when it come down to it does it really matter? The point of video games is to have fun and immerse yourself in a universe that you would otherwise never be able to visit.
